A major milestone in the regeneration of Liverpool City Region was marked yesterday, Thursday 7 August, when South Liverpool Homes’ South Parade development was officially launched.

The ambitious development will deliver 92 high-quality homes in the heart of Speke, forming a key part of the area’s wider regeneration strategy. The homes will be available across a range of tenures, including affordable rent, social rent, Rent to Buy, and shared ownership.

Along with funding from Homes England’s Affordable Homes Programme, the project has been supported with £1,524,000 of grant funding from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Brownfield Land Fund, to make the project viable and allow the residential development to come forward.

This transformative project aims to provide much-needed housing options for local residents while revitalising the South Parade area, creating a vibrant and inclusive community space.

The homes will be built to EPC A and will feature solar PV panels, highly efficient electric heating and electric charging points. All these measures will support customers to keep their energy bills down and reduce their carbon emissions.

Whether it’s families looking for spacious houses, people seeking affordable apartments, or those interested in taking a first step into home ownership, the redevelopment really does offer something for everyone.”

“To address the shortage of adaptable and accessible homes, 14 homes will be wheelchair-accessible, and the inclusion of bungalows will help address the needs of the growing older population in the area.”

We know that across the region, the demand for homes is huge and projects like this are crucial to meeting that demand and importantly giving people different options when it comes to affordability, renting or buying and accessibility too.

“I am really pleased that the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Brownfield Land fund has been able to support this development that will do more than just deliver new homes but will also help to revitalise this area of Speke.”

The first homes are expected to be ready by summer 2026, with the development expected to be completed by spring 2027.
